Benjamin-Porte.jpgOne Child - One Dog - He will be a hero...

Benjamin and Lady

The life of our small friends

The puppies bought for Un Enfant - Un Chien are all pedigree and medically sound.
The puppies must be equally strong, psychologicaly and educationally, as well as affectionate.
It goes without saying that utilizing dogs in close proximity to children, entails complying to numerous regulation involving the security and well being of the both chidren and the dogs.
We corroborate our choice by strict and rigourous analysis and evaluation of behaviour and health.

  • A family life

At the age of 3 to 10 months, the puppies are placed with benevolent foster families, whose's role it is to familiarise the dog with the outside world (crowds, noise, other animals...). Socialisation is extremely important in the pre-education of these young dogs, and is invaluable in shaping their future behaviour. With this in mind, the foster families are given instructions from an educator in order to attain continuity for all the puppies. We have found all the families welcome and enjoy participating and without their essential role, the development of future assistance dogs whould be an arduous undertaking. Therefore, UN ENFANT UN CHIEN thank, wholeheartedly all families present and future who unselfishly rally to this worthwhile cause.
All costs and needs for our dogs are met by the association.

  • Passage to High School

By the age of 10 months, the young dogs start their apprenticeship in earnest, working at the side of their educator. Each dogs schooling programme is complementary to each childs individual disabilities.

  • Training / Delivery

The intensive training, ensures perfect harmony between the child, family and dog. Together they must prove the ability to control the dog in all circumstances, safeguarding the security of child and dog alike.

Following a probationary period, culminating in an examination, the dog is finally adopted into the family.

Then starts the long journey of love...
